IOM Lithuania: free English language courses for 120 Ukrainians
International Organization for Migration Vilnius office (IOM Lithuania) is launching English language courses for Ukrainian citizens.
"International Migration Organization is actively working in Lithuania to help refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine. Having assessed the expectations of the people who came to Lithuania, we offered them English language courses. In just two days we have received a record number, more than 500 registrations, which means that the need for language training is extremely high", - says Eitvydas Bingelis, head of IOM Lithuania.
Considering the large number of people who are keen to learn, IOM Lithuania conducted an additional selection and selected 120 persons in total who will benefit from the training.
The English language teaching courses will be conducted by the specialists of Language School "Baltic International school". It is planned that the training will take place for about two months, and the participants will be able to improve their existing knowledge or learn the basics of English language.
IOM Lithuania has been actively providing assistance to war refugees since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. In October, an emotional support line for Ukrainians started operating. Every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. consultations by professional psychologists are provided in Ukrainian and Russian languages. IOM Lithuania and Airbnb also provide short-term accommodation options.
