IOM Lithuania will provide one time financial assistance for newly arrived Ukrainians
IOM Lithuania will provide one-off payments to newly arrived war refugees from Ukraine. "The number of arrivals has, of course, dropped, but every week there are dozens of Ukrainians fleeing the horrors of war who are clearly in need of financial assistance, above all. That is why we will provide vulnerable war refugees with lump-sum payments for essential expenses," says Eitvydas Bingelis, Head of IOM Lithuania. The one-off payment for newly arrived Ukrainians will amount to €176.
The support is available to: Ukrainian or third-country nationals who have arrived in Lithuania from Ukraine for the first time, have crossed the EU external border no more than 40 days ago, and have registered with the Migration Department while awaiting a temporary residence permit in Lithuania.
They must meet the following vulnerability criteria:
• Single parent/guardian arriving in Lithuania with one or more children under the age of 18 (support is granted to both the child and adult);
• Family with three or more children under 18 years of age (support is provided for the children and both parents);
• Family with a child under 18 with a disability (support is for the child and both parents);
• Pregnant woman;
• Persons aged 60 and over;
• Persons with a disability (support is granted to both the individual and their legal guardian).
One payment card is issued per family, with €176 provided per person.

During this time, we have provided assistance to 19,000 Ukrainians," says Eitvydas Bingelis, Head of IOM Lithuania.
Since the start of the war, nearly 91,000 Ukrainians have arrived in Lithuania.
