US Ambassador visit at MiCenter
Today the Migration Information Center MiCenter was visited by the Ambassador of the United States of America to Lithuania, Kara McDonald. She interacted with Ukrainian women who have started their new professional activities in Lithuania after receiving support from IOM Lithuania.
"The U.S. Refugee Agency is our biggest donor and we are delighted to have the Ambassador visit us. Financial support for Ukrainians is essential, and the funds are used for a variety of services: financial benefits, language training, emotional health therapies, and promoting entrepreneurship. In more than 2 years we have helped 19,000 war refugees from Ukraine who have arrived in Lithuania," said Eitvydas Bingelis, Head of IOM Lithuania.
The Ambassador listened to the stories of the war refugees, how they came to Lithuania with only a few belongings and no plan for their future life. Their only goal was to protect their lives and the lives of their children. "We support you as Ukrainians, as businesswomen and as leaders in your communities. Your stories are inspiring. I am happy to be here today," said the Ambassador.
